내가 무슨 말을 더 하리요 기드온, 바락, 삼손, 입다, 다윗 및 사무엘과 선지자들의 일을 말하려면 내게 시간이 부족하리로다 (히 11:32) And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets,(Hebrew 11:32) [ 我又何必再说呢．若要一一细说、基甸、巴拉、参孙、耶弗他、大卫、撒母耳、和众先知的事、时候就不够了。] 오늘은 믿음의 사람 열 여섯번째입니다. 바로 사무엘입니다. 사무엘은 이스라엘의 구속사에 아주 중요한 역할을 했던 하나님의 사람입니다. 그는 이스라엘의 마지막 사사로서, 두 명의 왕을 안수하여 세웠고 평생 나실인으로 하나님께 바쳐진 삶을 산 사람이었습니다. 그는 신앙의 모델이 될 수 있는 사람입니다. Today, we’ll learn about Samuel who is the 16th man of faith in my sermon[讲道]. He played an important role in the salvation history of Israel[以色列的救赎历史中]. He was the last judge[法官] of Israel, he anointed[膏] two kings, devoting himself to God through all his life as Nazirite[拿细耳人]. He was an example of faith.
사무엘Samuel의 아버지는 엘가나Elkanah입니다. 그는 에브라임Ephraim사람으로, 그에게는 두 명의 아내가 있었습니다. 아마 한나Hannah는 먼저 얻은 아내이었습니다만 아들이 없었습니다. 다른 아내에게서는 아들을 얻었습니다. 남편의 마음은 사실 아이가 없는 한나에게 늘 있었습니다. 하나님께서 그의 태문을 여시지 않음으로 늘 그녀는 다른 여인인 브닌나Peninnah로부터 멸시와 모욕을 당했습니다. 그로인해 엘가나의 가정은 여인들로 인해 평안할 날이 없었습니다. 남편의 회유와 설득으로도 이 한나의 고통을 잠재울 수는 없었습니다. 그 가족이 실로Shiloh에 올라가 제사장 엘리Eli에게 나아가 제사와 예배를 드렸는데 한나는 이 아픈 마음을 가지고 여호와의 전에 올라가 울며 기도하며 서원합니다. According to the first Samuel[撒母耳记上] 1:1 through 20, we can see how he was born. His father, Elkanah[以利加拿] came from Ephraim[伊弗列姆] and had two wives[妻子]. His first wife was Hannah[哈拿] but she couldn’t bear a baby. His other wife was pregnant[怀孕] and bore a baby. Still he loved Hannah much more. God didn’t allow Hannah to bear a baby and she was insulted[受辱] and neglected[被忽视的] by Peninnah[毗 尼 拿] who bore a baby for Elkanah. Conflict[冲突] between the two women made the family uncomfortable. Elkanah persuaded[说服] and consoled[安慰] Hannah but she couldn’t stand[忍受] the pain of not bearing a baby. The other day, his family went to Shiloh[希洛] to see a priest[牧师], Eli for the service and then Hannah prayed alone, crying for a baby at the temple of the Lord and making a vow[誓约].
‘만군의 여호와여 주의 여종의 고통을 돌보시고 나를 기억하사 주의 여종을 잊지 아니하시고 주의 여종에게 아들을 주시면 내가 그의 평생에 그를 여호와께 드리고 삭도를 그의 머리에 대지 아니하겠나이다’(1:11) And she made a vow, saying, “O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.” (1 Samuel 1:11) [许愿说：“万军之耶和华啊，你若垂顾婢女的苦情，眷念不忘婢女，赐我一个儿子，我必使他终身归与耶和华，不用剃头刀剃他的头。”]
하나님은 마음이 상한 자의 기도를 들으십니다. God listens to the prayer from the suffering.
‘여호와는 마음이 상한 자를 가까이 하시고 충심으로 통회하는 자를 구원하시도다.’(시 34:18) The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalms 34:18) [耶和华靠近伤心的人，拯救灵性痛悔的人。]
엘리는 한나의 기도를 듣고 그녀가 처음에는 술취한 줄로 이해했습니다. 그러나 그녀의 원통함과 간절함은 하나님께 상달되었고 그녀에게 귀한 아들을 축복으로 얻게 되었습니다. Eli was misunderstood[误解] that she was drunk[醉] at first. But her graveness[冷峻] and resentment[怨恨] was heard by God and so He blessed her by letting her get pregnant[怀孕].
‘여호와께서 그를 생각하신지라’(삼상 1:19) Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the LORD and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah lay with Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her. (1 Samuel 1:19) 次日清早，他们起来，在耶和华面前敬拜，就回拉玛。到了家里，以利加拿和妻哈拿同房，耶和华顾念哈拿 부모들은 아들의 이름을 사무엘이라 지었습니다. 그 이름의 뜻은 ‘내가 여호와께 구하였다.’는 것입니다.
한나Hannah는 사무엘이 젖을 떼기까지 기다리다가 하나님께 그를 평생에 드리기로 서원한 기도대로, 그 아들을 젖을 뗀 생후 3년이 지난 시점에 여호와의 전 곧 실로Siloh의 엘리제사장에게로 데려가 그를 드리고 사무엘은 엘리 제사장의 손 아래 그곳에서 하나님을 섬기는 자로 드리게 됩니다(삼상 2:11). 그는 그곳에서 세마포 에봇(제사장들이 입는 옷)a linen ephod. 을 입고 하나님은 섬겼습니다. 매년 드리는 제사의 시점에만 올라가 그의 아들을 만나니 그 어미와 아들이 마음이 얼마나 힘들었을까요? 그럼에도 불구하고 사무엘은 이겨 나갔습니다. 하나님은 이런 한나의 마음을 엘리를 통하여 축복하게 하십니다. 즉 사무엘을 대신하여 다른 아들들을 통해 위로를 누리게 하셨습니다. 그 결과로 사무엘 이후 한나는 여러 명(3남2녀)의 자녀를 얻게 하십니다(삼상 2:21). 사무엘은 엘리 밑에서 자랍니다. 하나님께서 그를 사랑하셨고 축복하십니다. 불량자였던 엘리의 두 아들의 음행으로 하나님은 그들을 죽이기로 하셨지만 사무엘은 하나님과 사람들에게 은혜와 은총을 받게 됩니다(삼상 2:26). 이 말씀을 기억하십시오. Secondly, Hannah[哈拿] performed what she promised with God according to the first Samuel 1:21 through 28. Hannah made a vow that she would give her son to God[把儿子给上帝的誓约]. She took care of Samuel until Samuel would not suck her breast milk[他照顾撒母耳 直到他断奶]. Three years later she took Samuel to the priest Eli[牧师 以利] to devote him to God and put Samuel at the temple where the priest Eli was staying. It is written in the first Samuel 2:11. Samuel wore only linen[亚麻布] ephod to serve God. He met his mom once a year at the annual[全年] service. How emotionally[情绪] hard it was for them to see only once a year! Nevertheless[虽然], Samuel got over it. God understood how painful it was for Hannah and blessed her to have more children. She was consoled[安慰] with other children, who were three boys and two girls .
‘나를 존중히 여기는 자를 내가 존중히 여기고 나를 멸시하는 자를 내가 경멸하리라’(삼상 2:30) “Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that your house and your father’s house would minister before me forever.’ But now the LORD declares: ‘Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained. (1 Samuel 2:30) [因此，耶和华以色列的 神说：‘我曾说，你和你父家必永远行在我面前；现在我却说，决不容你们这样行！因为尊重我的，我必重看他；藐视我的，他必被轻视。]
여호와의 이상이 희미하여 잘 보이지 않을 때 성전에서 잠자고 있는 사무엘을 하나님은 부르십니다. 그는 여호와의 궤 옆에서 누웠다가 하나님의 부름을 받습니다. 하나님은 때를 따라 이제 사무엘을 부르신 것입니다. 사무엘은 하나님은 늘 가까이서 모셨습니다. 그런 자에게 하나님의 부르심의 역사를 나타내십니다. 두 번의 부르심을 착각한 사무엘은 엘리 스승이 자신을 부르는 줄 알았습니다. 그것은 하나님의 부르심이었음에도 하나님에 대한 경험이 없는 고로 착각한 것입니다(삼상 3:7). 엘리도 세 번째 사무엘의 부름의 모습을 보고 그제서야 하나님이 그를 부르심을 깨닫습니다. 그제서야 사무엘은 하나님의 음성을 듣고 부름에 응답하고 그 앞에 섭니다. 하나님은 그에게 이렇게 말씀하십니다. When God couldn’t be seen clearly[明确地], God called Samuel who was sleeping at the temple. He was sleeping next to the Ark[方舟]. At the right moment, God called him. Samuel was always close to God. God uses such people who are close to God[上帝总是用亲近他的人]. At the second call of God, Samuel was misunderstood[误解] that his teacher Eli was calling[他的老师叫他] because he had not experienced[有经验] God before according to the first Samuel 3:7. Even Eli didn’t realize[实现] that God was calling Samuel until God called Samuel three times. Then Samuel understood God was calling, standing before God. God told him like the following.
‘내가 이스라엘 중에 한 일을 행하리니 그것을 듣는 자마다 두 귀가 울리리라….’(삼상 3;11) And the LORD said to Samuel: “See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears of it tingle. (1 Samuel 3:11) [耶和华对撒母耳说：“我在以色列中必行一件事，叫听见的人都必耳鸣。]
그것은 엘리 집에 대한 하나님의 심판이었습니다. 하나님은 그것을 사무엘에게 알게 하셨고 말씀하셨습니다. 사무엘은 그가 들은 하나님의 음성을 엘리의 협박에 못이겨 그 사실 그대로 그에게 전해줍니다. 그러나 엘리는 깨우치지 못하고 고치지 못했습니다. 하나님의 경고를 무시한 것입니다. It was God’s judgement[审判] against Eli’s family. God let Samuel realize[实现] it. Samuel had to report what he heard from God[从上帝那听到] because Eli pushed him to say[因为以利让他说] what he heard from God[他从上帝那听到的什么]. But even with the given information, Eli didn’t realize the meaning of the message[以利不能实现信息的意义], not correcting himself[不符合他]. In other words, he ignored the warning of God. So,
하나님은 사무엘을 들어 사용하셨습니다. God chose to use Samuel.
‘사무엘이 자라매 여호와께서 그와 함께 계셔서 그의 말이 하나도 땅에 떨어지지 않게 하시니.. 여호와께서 실로에서 다시 나타나시되 여호와께서 실로에서 여호와의 말씀으로 사무엘에게 자기를 나타내시니라’(삼상 3:19-21) The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the LORD. The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word.(1 Samuel 3:19-21) [撒母耳长大了，耶和华与他同在，使他所说的话，一句都不落空。] [从但到别是巴所有的以色列人，都知道耶和华立撒母耳为先知。] [耶和华又在示罗显现，因为耶和华将自己的话默示撒母耳，撒母耳就把这话传遍以色列地。]
사무엘은 철저한 하나님 중심의 신앙으로 이스라엘을 다스렸습니다. 엘리 집안의 멸망이후 하나님은 그를 통해 하나님의 백성들을 다스리게 합니다. 그가 먼저 시행한 것은 미스바Mizpah 대각성집회였습니다(삼상 7:5-). 백성들을 미스바Mizpah에 모으고 대각성 집회를 합니다. 그것은 하나님앞에 죄를 고백하고 회개하는 금식의 성회였습니다. 바로 영적 각성을 요구한 것이었습니다. 그곳에서 놀라운 일이 일어납니다. 이를 틈다 이스라엘을 치러 올라오는 블레셋 사람들을 하나님께서 대신 싸우셔서 멸하신 것입니다(삼상 7:10-11). 그리고 이것을 기념하여 에벤에셀Ebeneze(여호와께서 여기까지 도우셨다)이라는 제단을 미스바Mizpah와 센Shen사이에 세웁니다. 그리고 그는 벧엘Bethel, 길갈 Gilga, 미스바Mizpah, 그리고 라마Ramah로 순회하며 이스라엘을 다스렸습니다. As a judge, he ruled the Israelite by faith. God allowed him to rule[裁定] the Israel after Eli family fell. First of all, he held a conference[会议] for people to repent[忏悔] according to the first Samuel 7:5. People got together at Mizpah[米斯巴] to participate[参与] in the spiritual[精神] conference[会议]. They confessed[公开] sins[罪], repenting themselves through fast. They had to be renewed[续约] spiritually[灵性]. Amazing thing happened there. When they were praying, the Philistines attacked them[非利士人人进攻他们] but God defeated[打败] them instead of the Israel according to the first Samuel 7:10~11. To celebrate it, they made an altar[祭坛] between Mizpah[米斯巴] and Shen which, reminding[提醒] them of the fact that God helped them until they arrived there. And then he patrolled[巡逻] Israel including Bethel[伯特利], Gilgal[吉甲], Mizpah[米斯巴] and Ramah[拉玛] to rule.
그러나 사무엘도 그의 말년에 어려움이 있었습니다. 한 가지는 자신의 아들들이 아버지의 뒤를 이어 사사가 되었지만 자기 아버지의 행위대로 따르지 않고 부정을 저지르게 된 것입니다(삼상 8:1-3). 결국 그러한 이유로 백성들은 사무엘의 아들보다는 왕을 요구하는 범죄를 저지르게 됩니다. 왕을 요구한다는 것은 하나님을 의지하기 보다는 자신들의 왕을 의지하게 되는 것입니다. 사무엘은 이 일을 기뻐하지 않았습니다. 하나님께 기도합니다. 하나님은 그에게 이 모든 것이 그들이 너를 버린 것이 아니라 하나님을 버린 것이라고 말씀하십니다. 그러면서 그들이 왕으로 섬기게 될 때 우려되는 모든 것을 그들에게 가르칠 것을 명하십니다(삼상 8:4-9). But Samuel also had a hard time in his late days. His sons were endowed[天赋] with the title of judge from him but they didn’t follow Samuel’s behavior and instead they performed illegal[非法] things according to the first Samuel 8:1~3. So people didn’t want to rely on judges any longer and instead they wanted to have a king. It meant they wanted to follow the king’s decision rather than to listen to God. Samuel didn’t like it. He prayed to God. God answered him that people abandoned[弃] God rather than they abandoned Samuel. And God ordered Samuel he would teach the chosen king how to rule the country according to the first Samuel 8:4~9.
사무엘은 백성의 요구대로 베냐민Benjamite지파 기스Kish의 아들 중 사울Saul을 왕으로 기름부어 세웁니다(삼상 9-10장). 그러나 그 왕은 결국 하나님께 불순종함(삼상 13:8-14, 15:1-23)으로 사무엘의 마음을 아프게 하였고 하나님께로부터 버림을 당합니다. Samuel anointed[膏] Saul[扫罗] as a king just like the Israelites wanted. Saul was one of Kish’s sons from the Benjamite according to the first Samuel chapter 9 through 10. However, the king disobeyed[违抗] God, disappointing[令人失望] Samuel. And eventually he was discarded[丢弃] by God.
‘사무엘이 죽는 날까지 사울을 다시 가서 보지 아니하였으니 이는 그가 사울을 위하여 슬퍼함이었고 여호와께서 사울을 이스라엘 왕으로 삼으신 것을 후회하셨더라.’(삼상 15:34-35) Then Samuel left for Ramah, but Saul went up to his home in Gibeah of Saul. Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the LORD was grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel. (1 Samuel 15:34-35) [撒母耳回了拉玛。扫罗上他所住的基比亚，回自己的家去了。] [撒母耳直到死的日子，再没有见扫罗，但撒母耳为扫罗悲伤，是因耶和华后悔立他为以色列的王。] 이 일후에 하나님은 다윗을 왕으로 세우라고 명하십니다. 사무엘은 이새의 집에 가서 막내 아들인 다윗에게 기름을 부어 왕으로 세웁니다. (삼상 16장).After Saul was dismissed[解雇], God ordered Samuel to anoint David as a king. According to God’s order, Samuel went to iss’s home to anoint his last son, David as a king.
‘당신이 우리를 속이지 아니하였고 압제하지 아니하였고 누구의 손에서든지 아무것도 빼앗은 것이 없나이다.’(삼상 12:4) “You have not cheated or oppressed us,” they replied. “You have not taken anything from anyone’s hand.” (12:4) [众人说：“你未曾欺负我们，虐待我们，也未曾从谁手里受过甚么。”] 그리고 그는 왕을 세우신 분은 하나님이시기에 그를 섬기며 그의 명령에 복종할 것을 요구하였고 왕과 백성들이 여호와의 목소리를 듣고 청종하며 순종할 것을 권면한다. 그리고 그는 백성들을 격려합니다. He insisted that the king should obey God because it was God who chose Saul as a king. Also, he encouraged the king and his people to listen to God, saying like following.
‘두려워하지 말라 너희가 과연 이 모든 악을 행하였으나 여호와를 따르는데서 돌아서지 말고 오직 너희의 마음을 다하여 여호와를 섬기라… 여호와께서는 너희를 자기 백성으로 삼으신 것을 기뻐하셨으므로 여호와께서는 그의 크신 이름을 위해서라도 자기 백성을 버리지 아니하실 것이여 나는 너희를 위하여 기도하기를 결단코 범하지 아니하고 선하고 의로운 길을 너희에게 가르칠 것인즉 너희는 여호와께서 너희를 위하여 행하신 그 큰 일을 생각하여 오직 그를 경외하며 너희의 마음을 다하여 진실히 섬기라’(삼상 12:19-24) The people all said to Samuel, “Pray to the LORD your God for your servants so that we will not die, for we have added to all our other sins the evil of asking for a king.” “Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart. Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless. For the sake of his great name the LORD will not reject his people, because the LORD was pleased to make you his own. As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right. But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. (12:19-24) [众民对撒母耳说：“求你为仆人们祷告耶和华你的 神，免得我们死亡，因为我们求立王的事，正是罪上加罪了。”] [撒母耳对百姓说：“不要惧怕!你们虽然行了这恶，却不要偏离耶和华，只要尽心事奉他。] [若偏离耶和华去顺从那不能救人的虚神是无益的。] [耶和华既喜悦选你们作他的子民，就必因他的大名不撇弃你们。] [至于我，断不停止为你们祷告，以致得罪耶和华。我必以善道正路指教你们。] [只要你们敬畏耶和华，诚诚实实地尽心事奉他，想念他向你们所行的事何等大。] 사무엘의 죽음은 삼상 25장 1절에 간단히 소개되어 있습니다. 그의 죽음을 온 이스라엘이 슬퍼하였고 그는 라마에서 장사됩니다.
사무엘은 하나님의 사람으로, 사사로 훌륭하게 그 사역을 감당하였습니다. 하나님은 사무엘을 통해 이스라엘에게 하나님의 마음을 알게 하셨고 보이셨습니다. 그는 철저하게 하나님의 명령에 순종했고 이스라엘 민족의 범죄에 대해 마음을 아파했던 사람이었습니다. 철저하게 그는 하나님중심의 신앙을 이스라엘에게 강조하였습니다. 결국 이 모든 것을 통해 하나님의 사람으로 사무엘을 하나님은 사용하셨습니다. 비록 그의 자녀들의 어긋난 길이 있었지만 그가 하나님과 이스라엘을 향한 헌신과 충성 그리고 연민의 마음은 고귀한 것입니다. 믿음의 사람은 하나님의 사람입니다. 하나님께 드려진 사람이며 삶을 드려 하나님중심의 신앙을 지키고 가르치고 헌신하는 사람입니다. 사무엘은 그 이름이 참으로 위대하다 하겠습니다. 그것은 그의 중심에 늘 하나님에 대한 충성과 헌신, 그 민족에 대한 애통함이 있었기 때문입니다. Samuel’s death is written in the first Samuel 25:1. His death made all Israelites lament[哀叹] and his funeral[葬礼] was performed in Lamah. Samuel performed his mission[使命] as a man of God. God used Samuel so that the Israelites would know God’s heart. He obeyed God all the time, lamenting the sins the Israelites committed. God used him in all situations. Even if his children were far away from God, his love and devotion[忠诚] for God was beautiful. A man of faith belongs to God. Such person will devote[奉献] his life to God, based on faith, teaching people about God. Samuel was a great man. He was loyal to God, sacrificing himself for God all the time, with his heart full of lamenting for his people.
